How to Get Here

From Geneva Airport:

Flights into Geneva are available from most International Airports and are served by many low-cost airlines.

By train. There is a regular service direct to Sion Station. Tickets can be booked on-line with SBB or you can use RailEurope. There are several rail and bus passes available. If booking a ticket on-line or through RailEurope you need to buy a ticket from Geneva Airport to Sion Station. The cost is approx. CHF 120 return. The station platforms are below the arrivals hall at Geneva Airport. There are approx. 2 trains an hour and the journey takes just over 2 hours. It is a very scenic ride along Lake Geneva and through the Rhône Valley. From Sion Station you then take a bus to Lens. Look for the bus going to “Crans-Sur-Sierre” (Crans Montana) and the stop you require is “Lens Fondation Pierre Arnaud”. If you are coming by train and bus please let us know so we can send you a map and clear directions. The bus stop in Lens is approx. a 5 or 6 minute flat walk from the Chalet door. Please note the buses from Sion and Sierre stop fairly early in the evening. A taxi from Sion or Sierre should cost around CHF 60 / 70.

If you would like a transfer by car or taxi we recomend taking the train to Sierre (the next station after Sion) as this is easier and closer for car transfers.

By car. Just over 2 hours (170km) from Geneva Airport. Most of this is easy motorway driving, with the last 20 minutes being up good mountain roads. We recommend using your own car or hiring one. The cost of car hire is only slighly higher than using the train, and it will give you so much more flexibility and the chance to explore the other fantastic places this area has to offer. Even in winter we still recommend a car so that you are not tied to our drop off and pick up times from the slopes. The ski areas of Nendaz / Verbier, Zinal and St Luc are only 45 minutes to 1 hour away. Zermatt and Saas Fee are approx. 1 1/2 hours drive from here. There is plenty of opportunity for ski safaris if the snow happens to be poor in Crans Montana. We recommend hiring the car from the Swiss side of Geneva Airport so that it will already be winterised and have a vignette. Snow chains are recommended and will cost extra. We have found Auto Europe to be the best value car hire company, but search for prices on Money/Travel supermarket.

To drive on the motorway in Switzerland there is an obligatory road tax called a ‘vignette’ (CHF 40). This is available at the border crossings.

Private transfers. This is the most expensive way to reach to our chalet. There are several companies offering private transfers to mountain resorts in Switzerland. Please let us know if you would like us to organise a private taxi transfer.
